The Red Barchetta

One of Rush's biggest hits was a song titled the "Red Barchetta"off the "Moving Pictures" album back in the 80's. Neil Peart wrote the song based on a story that he read in Road & Track that was called "A nice morning drive" written by Richard Foster back in 1972. I just read on Neil's website that he had attempted to contact Mr. Foster for years but was unable to do so. Neil gave Mr. Foster credit in the lyrics sheets of the album. It wasn't until 1996 that Mr. Foster googled himself and found the notation on the lyric sheet. The following stories are very interesting dealing with how they finally got together and went for a ride in the hills of West Virginia.
